Seniors - Scholarship Information

The Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools will award over $20,000 to graduating seniors this spring! Scholarships are a great way to help reduce the cost of post-secondary education. We encourage you to review the scholarship opportunities.  Applications close on March 31st.

Fairview Elementary Arts Information Night - Thursday, April 4th
Do you have a child who enjoys the arts and will be an elementary student next school year?  If so, please join us at Fairview Elementary School on Thursday, April 4th at 6:00p.m.

Fairview enhances student learning through an arts-integrated approach. This information night will provide an opportunity to meet the Fairview administrators and some of the Fairview teachers.  The meeting will be followed by a tour of the school, which will include seeing the spaces that are dedicated specifically for arts instruction. Children are welcome to join you if you choose to take them.

All elementary students in MCCSC will have a chance to submit an Arts Transfer Request to attend Fairview and take advantage of the unique opportunities that are offered. Transportation will be provided for students who are approved to attend Fairview on an Arts Transfer. For more information about Fairview’s arts-integrated approach to learning, please visit the webpage here!
Solar Eclipse - Monday, April 8th

As a reminder - due to the total solar eclipse, MCCSC will be closed on Monday, April 8, 2024. Classes will not be held, all MCCSC buildings and properties will be closed (including HHCC and ELC), and all athletic practices, club meetings, and other extracurricular activities will be cancelled.

Monroe County is in the center of the “zone of totality” for this exciting event.

MCCSC will be providing solar eclipse glasses and accompanying learning activities for all students for use with parent/guardian permission. See attached flyer. Please visit www.nationaleclipse.com as this website provides a wealth of information, including planned events, festivals, and city-coordinated efforts in response to the eclipse.
